The 2018 Santa Fe CLE Roundup and Annual Dinner had the highest attendance of any of the previous programs. We had 145 lawyers, who, along with spouses and guests, brought the total number of attendees to 220 people.
There were many first-time attendees, including ABOTA Foundation President, Jan Gunderson, Brad West, Oklahoma chapter President and Jake Courtney, Los Angeles chapter President.
Cynthia McGuinn, ABOTA President, returned for a second time, as did Andre Rekte, President, San Bernardino/Riverside, CA chapter, Bill Smith, President, CAL-ABOTA and Charles Bentley, SEABOTA Treasurer.
This year, we went to the Palace of the Governors and the New Mexico History Museum for our Friday event. Once again, the Santa Fe School of Cooking was very well attended and folks loved the tacos they made.
Annual award winners were announced at the Saturday evening dinner. They are:
Jurist of the Year – Hon. Rodney Gilstrap, East Texas
Trial Lawyer of the Year – John Kim, Houston
Champion(s) of Civil Justice – Dr. Joyce Johnston, East Texas; Deborah Keen, Dallas
We have already set the date of June 27-June 30 for our 2019 program, so be sure and mark your calendars. Registration and booking information will be coming out at the first of the year.
