2020 Santa Fe CLE Roundup – CANCELLED

4/1/20

Regretfully, the TEX-ABOTA annual gathering in Santa Fe must be canceled for this year for obvious reasons.  Dicky Grigg deserves thanks once again for putting together a great group of speakers, and hopefully things will return to normal so we can hear them next year.

The hotel is cancelling all of the rooms that had been booked, so you will not be charged, nor do you have to cancel your reservation.

Our sponsors, many of whom have supported us for many years, also deserve our thanks — and I urge you to show your appreciation by contacting them when you need their services. I’ve provided a list and contact information for them below.

Most importantly, Cay Dickson deserves our thanks for all the work she has put into organizing our annual meetings in Santa Fe for so many years, and all that she has done for TEX-ABOTA.  As many of you know, Cay told us a few months ago that she is retiring, and this meeting in Santa Fe was to be our chance to wish her farewell and show our appreciation for all that she has done. The TEX-ABOTA board voted at the last meeting in New Orleans to show our appreciation with a nice gift, but we were all looking forward to giving her a hug and watching her shed a few tears while trying to say goodbye.

Santa Fe would also have given us an opportunity to welcome Tammy Miller as our new Executive Director. Tammy actually started working with Cay at the beginning of the year. She worked for Lewis Sifford in Dallas for many years, so she knows a lot about ABOTA and personally knows many of our members. We were lucky Lewis decided to retire, or semi-retire, at the same time we needed to replace Cay.

TEX-ABOTA still has work to do this year, and we will have our board meetings as scheduled. The April 18th board meeting will be by teleconference, and Cay or Tammy will send you an email with the specifics. Since we are all shut in at home, I hope most of the board members will be able to join us. Hopefully by October, we will be able to meet in person in San Antonio.

Finally, here’s a list of our Santa Fe sponsors, all of who are continuing to work just like we are in this changed environment. Please show them your appreciation by using their services.
