TEX-ABOTA Speaker-Getter, Dicky Grigg, has once again found some incredible speakers who will have you on the edge of your seat.

WHO’S SPEAKING?

Anne Bremner – Seattle lawyer and TV commentator who represented Amanda Knox, the US citizen who was accused of murdering her roommate in Italy.

Jack Scarola – Florida attorney who was one of the first lawyers to represent women sexually assaulted by Jeffery Epstein.

Karen Burgess – Kat Gallagher / Kathy Snapka – Karen will interview Kat and Kathy about the techniques they have used to become very successful trial lawyers.

Brad Beckworth – One of the lead trial lawyers in the nation’s first opioid trial that resulted in a verdict of $572,102,028 for the state of Oklahoma.

Guy Choate & David Chamberlain – The Co-Chairs of the TEX-ABOTA Legislative Committee will fill us in on laws passed and laws failed in the last legislative session that effect the Civil Justice system.

Jerry Mitchell – An investigative reporter for The Clarion-Ledger newspaper in Jackson, Mississippi. His investigative work convinced authorities to reopen cold murder cases from the Civil Rights Era. His efforts led to the conviction of the murderer of Medgar Evers, the Klansmen who orchestrated the killings of three CORE civil rights workers in Philadelphia, Mississippi in 1964 and the Klansmen responsible for the 1963 bombing of a Birmingham church that killed four young black girls.

Michelle Tuegel – One of the lead attorneys that successfully represented the U.S. Gymnastics team in their suit against Michigan State University doctor Dr. Larry Nassar for sexual assault. Her efforts resulted in settlement of $500MM.

Terry Bentley Hill – Dallas criminal defense attorney and nationally recognized mental health advocate.  She will discuss mental health issues afflicting the profession and what to do about it.

Grace Weatherly – ABOTA National President. Grace will pontificate in a vague yet knowing manner about the accomplishments of ABOTA in the past year.  She will actively take credit for the successes but will express regret for any failures in the “passive voice.”

Melissa Gomez – Philadelphia – trial consultant will give us the benefit of findings from her extensive (over 4,000 jurors and growing) juror-preconception database to stimulate thought and discussion about the need to adjust the sails of our trial strategies and account for an ever-changing landscape of human perception.
