National ABOTA and the German American Lawyers’ Association (DAJV) Deutsch-Amerikanische Juristen-Vereinigung (DAJV e.V.) – German-American Lawyers’ Association kicked off the DAJV Annual Conference with “Building Bridges Across the Atlantic: Sharing Skills from the German Legal System and American Civil Jury Trials.” Jennifer Doan, President-Elect of ABOTA, provided the opening remarks along with Professor Thomas Pfeiffer of the University of Heidelberg, Chairman of the DAJV. The well-attended event was held at the prestigious “Institute for Law and Finance” located at the Goethe University Frankfort am Main located in Frankfort, Germany.
The two-day program addressed: Litigating Civil Cases in German Courts; American Case Framing; German Case Framing; Hot Topics in German and American Litigation and Arbitration; Presentation of Experts in American Litigation and Arbitration; Dissenting Opinions-Do They Lead to Better Judgments; and Adversarial vs. Inquisitorial Legal Systems.
