TEX-ABOTA Speaker-Getter, Dicky Grigg, has once again somehow corralled some incredible speakers who will have you on the edge of your seat.

WHO’S SPEAKING?

Brad Beckworth – One of the lead trial lawyers in the nation’s first opioid trial that resulted in a verdict of $572,102,028 for the state of Oklahoma.
Ann Bremner – Seattle lawyer and TV commentator who represented Amanda Knox, the US citizen who was accused of murdering her roommate in Italy.
Nick Bilton – special correspondent for Vanity Fair, to be interviewed by Martha Dickie
Guy Choate & David Chamberlain – The Co-Chairs of the TEX-ABOTA Legislative Committee will fill us in on what to expect in the next legislative session.
Kat Gallagher / Kathy Snapka – Karen Burgess will interview Kat and Kathy about the techniques they have used to become very successful trial lawyers.
Jerry Mitchell – Is an investigative reporter for The Clarion-Ledger newspaper in Jackson, Mississippi. His investigative work convinced authorities to reopen cold murder cases from the Civil Rights Era. His efforts led to the conviction of the murderer of Medgar Evers, the Klansmen who orchestrated the killings of three CORE civil rights workers in Philadelphia, Mississippi in 1964 and the Klansmen responsible for the 1963 bombing of a Birmingham church that killed four young black girls.
Joe Roda – Pennsylvania lawyer who wrote a book, Abraham Lincoln Making a Case. Lincoln was one of, if not the best, trial lawyers in Illinois in his day. It is amazing how the persuasion techniques he mastered are the ones good lawyers use today – themes – simple analogies – powerful words, etc.
Jack Scarola – Florida attorney who was one of the first lawyers to represent women sexually assaulted by Jeffrey Epstein.
Lewis Sifford – A former National President of ABOTA will discus how to practice law in Dallas and still be semi-ethical.
Michelle Tuegel – She was one of the lead attorneys that successfully represented the U.S. Gymnastics team in their suit against Michigan State University doctor Dr. Larry Nassar for sexual assault. Her efforts resulted in settlement of $500MM.
Hon. R. H. Wallace – A retired Fort Worth judge who will talk about judicial independence. Judge Wallace was severely criticized and threatened when he ruled that a local hospital could remove life support from a brain-dead woman who was 14 weeks pregnant.
